Wedding Wishes

This weekend my hubby and I attended the wedding of some wonderful friends of ours.  As usual I was cutting corners trying to get out the door when I realized I didn't have a card ready.  Thanks to my good friend, Sherida Giddings, who sent me a photo of this, her creation, a truely quick and beautiful card for me to case.  I LOVE it, don't you?

 
This card features the soon to be retired set "Everything Nice".  The whisper white cardfront was embossed with Manhattan Flower embossing folder.  The greeting was stamped in classic early espresso ink and embelished with 3 simple pearls.  The 5/8 inch Organza Ribbon looks draped but is held in place with glue dots. 

 

Since the bride and groom requested cash gifts this little scalloped envelope held our checque and was attached inside with another glue dot. 

Thanks Sherida!  This card took all of about 10 minutes to make and I think was as pretty as anything.

Bridal Bustier

 
After meeting with my team the other night I just had to take on their challenge of turning the Petal Cone Die into a naughty but nice Bridal Bustier.  Could it also be a valentine gift holder? Hmmm... I think so! 

 
 

A little embossed vellum, satin ribbon and clear embossing help to lend some elegance to this little bustier.  Designed to stand instead it could be adapted to be a table place setting with the name of your guest on it. 

 

I made this box one inch wide but this could easily be adjusted to suit the size of your gift. 

 

This shot shows the clear embossing which wasn't noticable in the other shots.

Fall Wedding Scrap

One member of our scrap club, Kim, had a fabulous fall wedding last year.  What a beautiful time of year to be a bride with all the trees looking like giant colourful flowers.  Kim took advantage of the layout from our club shown below and peronalized it to scrap her wedding day.

This was the layout and below you'll see what she did with it.

Happiness Held is the Seed...

Happiness held is the seed; happiness shared is the flower.  This about sums up the reason for a wedding a partnership and family.  I purchased this pretty rose stamp set, not just for the lovely rose image but for this beautiful truth in print. 

Armed with two stamp sets, (Pick a Petal & Happiness Shared) ink and paper I challenged myself to stick with the colour theme of yellow, black and white today and to keep the card/invitation size a standard 5.5 " x4.25 " .  I'm quite happy with the results below.

This sunny yellow invitation is in Daffodil Delight ink and cardstock.  It's such a wonderful bright contrast to the black, don't you think?  I first stamped the rose from Happiness Shared in our classic basic black ink then coloured it with markers and a blender pen.  The Ribbon - black satin and the flower embossing was done with the Petals a Plenty embossing folder and my Big Shot.  Quick and easy!

This next set of wedding invitations, cards and wedding items is rather softer, young and whimsical.

The soft yellow petals from Pick a Petal stamp set are stamped in so saffron classic ink.  The cardstock used was whisper white, basic black and so saffron.  When you stamp and create your own wedding invitations you can carry your theme into the thankyou notes, the table menu and place cards.  Such fun!  And ... when your special day is over and your wedding photos are finally in your hands just think of the fun you can have scrapping your wedding!

Fall Wedding Invitations

I love the fall for weddings.  The changing leaves present a wonderful backdrop for your festivities.  I'm so glad that Robyn and Mark have chosen this season to say their vows.  Using the stamp set "Autumn Splender" I've come up with this wedding invitational set in Very Vanilla and Rich Razzleberry with a bit of River Rock thrown in for good measure.

 

I did try a couple of other variations of the same invitation. 

This is vertually the same card turned vertically and made in vanilla and River Rock.  Ribbons are Vanilla Satin and Always Artichoke grosgrain.  I couldn't resist the three tiny pearls which are self adhering and from our new Mini.

This version is stamped in river rock on vanilla which is mounted on rich razzleberry.  The card base is river rock.  Since I don't yet have the razzleberry satin ribbon I cheated and used some retired cranberry crisp satin ribbon.  It seems to have such a wedding feel.

My Digital Studio oh... What Fun!

My new Digital Studio from Stampin' Up! just arrived and once my sweet hubby installed it for me I just couldn't leave it alone.  What a ball it is to drag and drop my photographs onto a scrap page - taa daa!   I can't wait to get all our photos off my computer and finally out on display.   

Here's my first attempt at digital scrapping of a wedding we celebrated this August. 

 

A beautiful memory for a lovely young couple.   Now, I can't wait to see this in print!

Sneak Peek Treats

I'm heading out the door for the Ottawa Wedding Show in a moment but I thought I would send you a peek at one of the many projects we'll have on display at our booth this weekend.  If you have a wedding or party in your near future there is something at our stall to inspire you to dress it up! 

This cute couple is all ready to decorate your table setting and hold a surprise for your wedding guests.   I hope you like my design.  They are simply 2-4-6-8- boxes all decked out.

The bride is wearing Whisper White, stamped with white craft ink and embossed in Iridecent Ice.  Her gown really sparkles.   Around her neck is a white satin ribbon and silver ribbon slider.

The groom is wearing a formal basic black tuxedo topped off with two black brad buttons and a basic black ribbon bow tie.
