Dazzling and delightful, this card was created by Rosalie Crich.  She made wonderful use of our new Silver Glimmer paper and added her greeting in embossed silver.  Just beautiful!

 

Joanne Rolston created this sweet card with "Festive and Fun" stamp set and "Dear Santa".  What a terrific job she did colouring this greeting!

All except this last card used the stocking builder punch #124095.  What a fast and fabulous way to create pretty cards quickly.  You may notice that some of the above cards used this punch with designer paper and some stamped their stockings with the matching stamp set "Stitched Stockings" w-123782 c-123784.  These images make it just so easy to create a variety of cards (not just Christmas Cards). I'll show some others another day.

Nautical Summer Swaps

One of my favourite summer memories is sailing and feeling refreshed by the combination of water and cool breeze.  (Not to mention the dunkings that usually were part of my personal Lazer sailing experiences.) Those summer sailing days are conjured up for me by these stamp sets: "The Open Sea" (123032 c, 123030 w) and "Sail Away" (123013 w).  If you're not into sailing then no doubt you've stood by the water and watched sailboats slip by while enjoying the breeze at the water's edge.   In either case... I hope you get my "drift" when I say these are cool cards by my stampin' demonstrator friends that I hope you enjoy!

Fabulous Florets Swap Cards

You won't believe what my stamping friends have been up to with their new Summer stamps!  Here's a sampling of what they're doing with the Fabulous Florets set from the Summer Mini Catalogue.

 
What a fresh combo of colours: Daffodil Delight, Baja Breeze and Night of Navy!  Janet Sani used Iridescent Ice embossing powder on this beautiful leaf image. 

 
Kim Assaly dressed this sunny card of Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Old Olive, with basic pearls and beautiful Old Olive satin ribbon. 

 
To create this soft fabric look you see here Tammy Richard stamped on whisper white before placing it in the Big Shot and square lattice embossing folder.

 
Tara Kemp mixed her stamped flowers of Wild Wabasi, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight with the new Flower Garden Embossing Folder.  I love her twist on the ribbons: 1/8 " Daffodil Delight taffeta ribbon tied on top of our beautiful 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon. 

This is just a sampling from a recent swap in Ottawa.  I hope this inspires you to get out your summer stamp sets and colours and create some beautiful cards of your own.

Vintage Nature Walks

Here are two vintage cards created using the new Stamp set "Nature Walks"!  I love this set and apprecitate how well it suits the vintage look.  What do you think?

 

Created by Trina St. Michael, this gorgeous card makes use of a new, lighter weight, double-sided designer paper called, First Edition (#121878), also a strip of Botanical Garden Designer Paper (121783), Baja Breeze Glass Glitter (#121883),  Framed Tulips embossing folder and crumb cake 1/2" seam binding (122332) All from our new Ocassions Mini catalogue. 

 

My photo doesn't do justice to this beautiful card by Kim Assaly which is stamped in classic so saffron, early esspresso and wild wabassi.  Some sponging in all three colours adds to the vintage feel.  The couple of extras on this card the tiny tag and lace are all that's needed to complete the vintage look.

Friday's Featured Folder - Northern Flurry

Everyone deserves to treat themselves a little and Sizzix Embossing Folders are my personal indulgence.  If you haven't tried them, in my opinion, you should.  If you need to see a product in action before purchasing (usually I'm like that but not with embossing folders... lol) then you'll enjoy today's post.  Check out what my Demonstrator friends have done with today's featured folder - Northern Reflections Textured Embossing Folder #120902.

 

 
Kathleen Bender embelished each embossed snowflake with Smooch Pearlized "Illuminate Top Coat" #121084 and a Basic Rhinestone.  The greeting is stamped in versamark and heat embossed in silver. 

 

I don't know who designed this card but they also dusted each embossed snowflake with a shimmer paint and added some beautiful baja breeze snowflakes punched out with the Norther Frost Decorative Strip #120901 and the Big Shot. 

 

Maureen Winges ran a sheet vellum through the textured embossing folder and really created a beautiful white on transparent layer without embelishment but she also added bling!  (some dazzling diamonds in the center of each flake)  The stamp set "Big On Christmas" #116578, adds another dimention (pun intended) as the snowman is popped up with a dimentional.  Stamped in Baja Breeze, coloured with markers and the dazzling diamonds really add sparkle to each letter. 

If you scroll back up you'll notice that the orientaion of the snowflakes can be modified to accomodate whatever greeting or image you wish to add.  I hope you're impressed with this textured embossing folder and want to give it a try.  Why not join my Big Shot Class this month or next and get a chance to play with it?

You may think this folder limits you to a blue pallet.  Not!  Check back tomorrow to see another sample card not blue!

A Little Early Christmas Inspiration

I just had a ball at the Shoe-Box-Swap last night.  It was great to see all the Christmas creations and even more fun to make some.  But, you know what, just chatting and sharing with such a wonderful and crafty group of women was the best part of all.   The ladies were so clever with their card samples and now you can be inspired by them too!

This delightful card makes great use of a new product in our catalogue.  It's the gold Lame Smooch pearlized  Accent Ink #119968 (pg195) which I just dotted on the bells and swirled on the greeting using the included brush.  You may not notice from this photo but the holly berries are also shiny and coated with a layer of Crystal effects #101055.  The designer paper is my current favourite from the Holiday Mini "Deck the Halls" #120810 and tied up with - not ribbon - but a length of Cherry Cobbler seam binding #120992. What a bright and cheery card this one is in real red and pacific point.  The santa is stamped in Stazon in and then coloured with marker and blender pen.  Too simple and fab!  Stamp set: Jolly Old Saint Nick clear # 121321 wood # 121711

The colours for this card are inspired by the glittery "Candy Cane Christmas" designer paper and just say MERRY!  colours - garden green, baja breeze, blushing bride, real red  Stamp Set: Holiday Happiness c #120792 w #120786

Love this gorgeous layout, cool colour palett (bashful blue & night of navy) and the stamp set! (lol...recognize this one from my swap card?)  What a cool way of tieing the night of navy ribbon on this card!  Don't you love that touch of silver?  Too bad Stampin' Up! retired that stretchy silver cord.  I love it!  Stamp Sets: Serene Snowflake  w #115438 All Holidays w #114916

Talk about simply gorgeous!  This card came together quickly and just is a pleasure to look at. Real red and white are so bright and cheery.  Stamp set: Many Merry Messages w 116586

What a wonderful warm combination of Early Esspresso and Baja Breeze!  Another card which came together quickly and has an elegant finish!  (gotta love that Big Shot Petals a Plenty embossing folder #116824) Stamp set: Dasher w #116816

Clever and colourful this card took less than five minutes to put together!!!  What an eyeful thanks to three strips of coordinating designer paper.  This stamp set calls to me: Season of Joy w #110384  (Should I really purchase another Christmas stamp set?  Silly question.... and if you know me, you know the answer already. lol)

Well it's dinner time and my hungry family is eagerly awaiting whatever I can put together in the time it took to stamp one of these cards...so, I'm off to feed them.

Scrap Swap Challenge

For those of you who wish you were scrapping a lot more, here's a challenge that might just get you going.  Take a 6x6" scrap page and use it as a starting point for a 12 x12" or 8-1/2x11" page.  This little exercise kick starts my creative juices when I'm stuck.  

Below you'll find a series of 6x6" pages just perfect for a mother's day gift or for a travel scrapbook.  I love the 6x6" scrapbook size for books that tell a story from beginning to end.  (School year scrapbook, wedding gift scrapbook, A Year in the Life of ..., The story of Grandma, Trip scrapbook etc.)

Now...for your challenge: I suggest you take one of the little pages below, created by my demonstrator friends, as a starting point for a 12x12 page.  Don't know what this might look like or how to proceed? Just check my last post where you can see an example.  http://www.stamperspad.com/home/2010/04/butterfly-inspiration.html  Once you have a completed sample just email me a photo and I'll post it in May which is scrapbook month and you can inspire the rest of us!

Created by: NICOLE CARPINI  Pale Plum and Bashful Blue cardstock are just so soft and beautiful together.  I can just see a photo of Mother and newborn on this page!  The title was stamped in Lovely Lilac classic ink and the tiny heart was punched using our new "small heart" punch from the current mini.

Ok scrappers, grab your supplies and get started creating your 12 x 12 or 8-1/2 x 11" pages.
