Pretties and More

Today I was playing with my background stamps again and think that this one can almost stand alone.  Of course a few pretties never hurt any card. 

I kind of liked it this simple but added another pretty for more pizzaz.  What do you think?  This extra flower leaves the word hope featured as this card is going to a student of mine who is fighting cancer I think this is appropriate.

 

Recipe:  Tres Chic background stamp, Carte Postal, Cardstock: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Purely Pomegranate, Ink: Versa Mark Pad embossed with White EP, Purely Pomegranate, Pretty in Pink, both sponged on Whisper White (Emboss Resist Technique),  Other: P. Pom. Double Stitched ribbon, Pink Ginham ribbon, Crystal Brads and a couple of sparkles from our local dollar store.

I've been digging in our garden in an attemp to rid it from weeds, fertalize it and rearrange some plants.  Phew!  So far I just see that there's ...so far to go!    Gotta love that my break from gardening is stamping.  How great is that!

More ideas for the Pretties Kit

More Pretties!  I'm back at it again! It seems I can't, really can't stop playing with my Pretties Kit.  Here is a card that I made for my Niece's birthday.  She always gives cards with fine embossed designs or delicious glitter. I hope she likes it! 

Stamps: Pick a Petal, Happy Everything
The petals were stamped on card stock velum with versa and covered with Heat and Stick.  Then, once heated, I dusted them with Dazzling Diamonds.  They were cut out and finished off with a 1/2 pearl from the Pretties Kit.  Happy, is stamped with versa and then classic soft sky and coated with Heat and Stick.  Then Dazzling Diamonds applied.  The colour of the Soft Sky ink shows through this fine glitter.

This card features some items from the Pretties Kit used in a different way.  These crystal beads and pearls are hung from silver cord through a large copper eyelet.
The card stock: Ruby Red, Perfect in Pink , Regal Rose, and whisper white.
Ink: Black, Ruby Red, Regal Rose
The image is from my current favourite set " Embrace Life"  and is coloured using ink from the classic ink pads and a blender pens.  What a pretty Spring Wedding Invitation this would be!

Pretties Photo Album

The Pretties kit from Stampin' Up! was used in each project that can be found in my new photo album, at the bottom of the left side bar, "PRETTIES".   I'll be adding samples as they are completed.

Here's my latest creation using the hat pin, pearls and beads from the Pretties Kit.  I mostly cased this card from one posted by Kelly Crowly on Stampin' Up!'s web pages.  You can find it in my new photo album.  I have been wondering if I could modify this design so that the dragonfly could be removed and worn as a pin.  Can you imagine giving this beautiful card and pin?

The wings are card stock vellum stamped with versa and embossed with silver.
A hat pin from the Pretties Kit was threaded with beads from the kit and attached with Crystal Effects.
The head is a crystal brad.  I might try this again using a pearl for the head.

Stamper's Club Cards Embellishments

My Sunday Stamper's Club had a lot of fun playing with the Pretties Kit, Build-A-Brads, and Clear Buttons! Below you can see the final two cards we made.

In this card the clear button magnifies the stamped words. "Sending You My Love".
You can also stamp directly on the Clear Buttons using the Stazon Ink or Craft and embossing powder. 

You can also punch out Designer Paper and attach to a clear button. Check here for more information on clear buttons.

Samples of both of these will be posted tomorrow.

Here's a close up where I hope you can see that the button does in fact magnify the text.

This card is embellished with a flower from our Pretties Kit. It's so much fun to colour the flower to match our cardstock. We even stamped the flower afterward. The possibilities are endless with this beautiful kit! Want to know more? Check here.

Here's a close up of the card we made using the Build-A-Brad embellishment. We stamped an image, punched it out with the 1/2" circle punch, and adheared the clear plastic top to our image. The clear plastic top comes with adhesive already on it and is sooo simple to use. Next just glue your chosen image onto the brad with either 2-way glue or Crystal Effects and add to your project. Taa Daa! Bling!  Take a closer look at Build-a-Brad here.

Of course these nifty embellishments can be added to scrap pages as well.

Open House Projects:

Here are the projects we made this weekend at the Open House.
This one is a CD Calendar.  We stamped an image from my Favourite New Set, "Embrace Life".
Using ink from Groovy Guava and Purely Pomegranate stamp pads we painted the flower with aqua painters.  I LOVE the aqua painters - no muss no fuss! 

This card is made using a different image from the same wonderful set, "Embrace Life".

Card stock colour is River Rock and Chocolate chip.  The inks are Chocolate Chip, River Rock & Rose Red.
The bottom 2 1/4 inches of the card has a strip of Double sided Designer Paper.
We used blender pens and ink from the the above classic pads to paint the blossoms of this image. 

Pretties Demonstration:
Guests saw a demonstration of how to paint the pretties using sponge daubers and Pretty in Pink Classic re-inker.  I also used a blender pen and classic ink from a Purely Pomegranate Pad.  Do you notice the petals are darker at the outside edge?

I caught this picture, below, of Carol finishing off her card but I was having too much fun and forgot to take any shots until almost all the stamping was over.  Ah well, next year.

Carol has an eye for detail and finished her card with the designer paper positioned to accent the horizontal lines!
