This swap card uses Aged Copper hodgepodge as an embellishment.

The little wire scroll shown in this card is from the Antique Brass Hodgepodge Kit.  The many fun pieces included in these kits let you close your cards and projects in creative ways, attach sentiments and ribbons and add just add that special touch.

Mulberry Batik and More Hodgepodge Fun

This splendid flower was totally inspired by a fellow demonstrator at our monthly team meeting and C.A.S.ed by me.  The soft, mottled petals of this flower are formed from Mulberry paper that has been painted in a batik style. 

If you brought a batik card to our meeting please let me know and I'll give proper credit.

Recipe: 

Stamp Sets:  Pick a Petal & Stem Sayings

Cardstock: Lovely Lilac, Tempting Turquoise, whisper White

WaterColour Wonder Crayons: Brilliant Blue & Tempting Turquoise applied with an Aqua Painter

Ink: Glorious Green, Versa Mark,   Gold embossing powder and tempting Turquoise grosgrain ribbon

Below is another sample of a card using Mulberry Paper and the Batik technique.

Recipe: 

Stamp sets:  Pick a Petal & Stem Sayings

Cardstock: Regal Rose , Appricot Appeal and Rose Red

Watercolour Wonder Crayons:  Rose Red, Regal Rose and Appricot Appeal applied with an Aqua Painter.

Ink etc.: Craft Old Olive with clear embossing powder on the stem. Versa Mark and Silver Embossing on the petals.

You may notice that each flower is finished off with another silver ribon slider that I have coloured to match the cardstock. I used reinker and Crystal Effects to change the colour of these silver sliders and add a special sparkle.  Get the instructions on my tutorial page, here.  This is so much fun and easy too!

Hodgepodge Play

Here's a sneak peek at a couple of the projects we'll be making at the Heavenly Hodgepodge class this month.  I just love this silver hodgepodge kit from our Occasions Mini Catalogue.   

I think the silver is really elegant on our going gray cardstock! 

So sweet.  The word frames can be used to frame more than words!

Hodgepodge Hardware Fun!

My Occasions Mini Catalogue order arrived Thursday but.... I was too busy enjoying the snow to get at it.  When I got home from our ski day I couldn't wait to get my hands on the new Silver Hodgepodge Hardware Kit.  I was not disappointed!  It has 200 detailed pieces and they are a different selection than the Hodgepodge Hardware kits found in our Spring & Summer catalogue. 

In the picture above you can see there are 5 different fancy label frames and 5 different designer brads -100 in total plus 100 small brads.  Every piece is finished differently too!  Wait 'till you get a closer look as I make some cards with these lovely embellishments.

Though they are beautiful just as they are, I couldn't resist trying to make them pop with colour.
