You may not suspect by my postings but I'm a closet glitter bug. Often after posting a card I use my 2-way glue pen and dazzling diamonds to add some extra pizzaz to my creations. However today's card was designed with glitter in mind. I have a small hoarding of glitter and this gorgeous creature was just calling for Chocolate Fine Supernova glitter!
The details: Stamps: Dasher #116816, Many Merry Messages #116586; Ink: Craft Chocolate Chip, Classic Old Olive and Soft Suede; Paper: Very Vanilla #101650, Soft Suede #115318, Chocolate Chip #102128; Specialty Paper: Bride #115669; Other: (Old Olive Satin Ribbon) from Mini; Sponge daubers
This card came together really quickly. The Bride cardstock is a white-on-white speciallty paper and I modified it by sponging on it with Soft Suede and Old Olive classic ink. The glossy design acts as a resist to the ink and this adds a wonderful effect to your creation. (If I do say so myself.) This was not my idea but came from our Stampin' Up site. After adhering the modified Bride specialty paper to the vanilla cardstock I tied on a ribbon before adding this layer to the card front. Noel was stamped in Soft Suede on the Very Vanilla cs. Dasher was inked in Craft Chocolate Chip (sticky ink), stamped, and then dusted with Heat & Stick powder. I did just as the name suggests, and heated it rather gently with my heat gun. Once the Heat & Stick powder was melted I spooned Chocolate glitter over top and tapped the excess off before sealing it with another quick pass of the heat gun. What's special about the Heat & Stick is it adheres the glitter to every detail of a stamped image. Just check it out below.
So, as a glitter bug, I highly recommend using Heat & Stick powder with detailed stamp images for a real eye-popping result.
This was another of my Stampers Club cards. Hope you enjoyed it.
Cheers,
Linda
