Here, for your stamping inspiration, are some more wonderful seasonal swap cards. 

Designed by Josee Smuck this pretty stocking was created with the Big Shot and the Holiday Stocking #124098 Bigz Die.  Using Frostwood Lodge designer paper 124002, and embeslished with Mica Flakes 124115 it's just adorable.

Manon Parent created this beautiful card using the Big Shot with the top note die and the new Snow Burst Textured Impression Embossing Folder 124096.  I love the Red satin ribbon with the Holly Berry Bouquet designer paper.  The stitching and sponging are great details. 

Jacynthe Gauthier created this sparkling Christmas Card using dazzling Diamonds over top of this beautiful tree image from Christmas lodge stamp set w-123767 c 123769.  Just beautiful in person!

By Kareen Fillion-Aubut.  I love this image in red on the snowflake punched from Red Glimmer Paper 121790.  Just dazzling.  Big Shot was used to with the Snowflake #2 die 113460 and the Northern Flurry Textured Embossing folder 120902

Jacynthe Gauthier created this beautiful colour blocked card.  I love this layout and can't wait to case it myself!  The beautiful colour combination looks just like the leaves outside my window right now.

Swap Cards - The stockings Were Hung by the Chimney with Care...

Dazzling and delightful, this card was created by Rosalie Crich.  She made wonderful use of our new Silver Glimmer paper and added her greeting in embossed silver.  Just beautiful!

 

Joanne Rolston created this sweet card with "Festive and Fun" stamp set and "Dear Santa".  What a terrific job she did colouring this greeting!

All except this last card used the stocking builder punch #124095.  What a fast and fabulous way to create pretty cards quickly.  You may notice that some of the above cards used this punch with designer paper and some stamped their stockings with the matching stamp set "Stitched Stockings" w-123782 c-123784.  These images make it just so easy to create a variety of cards (not just Christmas Cards). I'll show some others another day.

Beautiful Gift Boxes by Carole Lee

Introducing Carol Lee Cowan...a creative designer par excellance!  What a joy it was to meet Carol Ann at the Spring Fling a few months ago.  She not only creates beautiful things, but shares her designs too!  You can imagine my delight when I found out she's married to a friend of mine from highschool days!

 

I caught this picture while Carol was demonstrating how she makes her boxes from templates.  What a gorgeous smile!  It's obvious she enjoys sharing her hobby and getting other people hooked too!

Below you can take a peek at some of the detailed art work she shared with other stamping enthusiasts this past spring.

 

Totally created with the Petal Punch this is the most gorgeous flower I've seen made!  Carol Ann went a step beyond and ran each petal throught the big shot using the Finial Press texture embossing folder, sponged ink on each piece before assembling and finally added glitter with a glue pen!  I'm so smitten with this that I'm actually ordering this punch.  I now MUST have it!

 
 
This quick shot gives you a peek at a few different size and styles of Carol Ann's boxes.  LOVE, love, love the embelishments and atttention to layers and colours that are part of everything Carol Ann creates!

 
More tiny boxes made with tons of love.  I think each of these has embossing on top of embossing.  Just Yummy to look at!  Notice how Carol Ann layered the embossed flowers on the yellow box above. 
These Top Note die boxes show care and attention to decorate in a layered fashion and as your eye explores you find differnt ways that Carol Ann makes her images pop with brads or glitter.  Just delicious Eye Candy, I say!!!

 

Just in case you imagine that Carol Ann just runs her boxes all quickly through the big shot... think again.  Here she is demonstrating how to create different sized boxes using a bone folder and scoring tool. 

 

One last peek at a couple of beautiful cards!

Wedding Wishes

This weekend my hubby and I attended the wedding of some wonderful friends of ours.  As usual I was cutting corners trying to get out the door when I realized I didn't have a card ready.  Thanks to my good friend, Sherida Giddings, who sent me a photo of this, her creation, a truely quick and beautiful card for me to case.  I LOVE it, don't you?

 
This card features the soon to be retired set "Everything Nice".  The whisper white cardfront was embossed with Manhattan Flower embossing folder.  The greeting was stamped in classic early espresso ink and embelished with 3 simple pearls.  The 5/8 inch Organza Ribbon looks draped but is held in place with glue dots. 

 

Since the bride and groom requested cash gifts this little scalloped envelope held our checque and was attached inside with another glue dot. 

Thanks Sherida!  This card took all of about 10 minutes to make and I think was as pretty as anything.

Pennant Parade Again!

You may not believe I'm still playing with Pennant Parade but this set IS really fun to get creative with!  Check out how you can use it in a card or on a scrap page (other than as a banner). lol...

I was so excited to use the pennant parade stamp with the petite pennant punch to create this star shape for our new little star that I didn't embellish at all.  Oh well, Cayden is the embellishment.  lol I can't wait to use this same star motif in a scrap page celebrating his arrival.  If you have the scallop circle die #113468 then you can recreate this star just just by placing a pennant triangle after every 6th scallop.  EASY!  You've gotta love this idea!  Can you tell I do? lol

Here's another 4x4 tiny card designed for a shower.  You can see babies are on my mind these days.  Cardstock: bashful blue, so saffron, *Island Indigo (in colour)  The ribbon is 1/8 inch daffodile delight stuck onto toothpicks with a glue dot.  Both pennants are raised up from the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Pennant Parade Pizzazz

I had the most wonderful weekend away with "the girls" and feel so refreshed and revitalized.  Somehow a great time with good friends can be playful and leave you feeling invigorated.  This week I've had a few days of play time with my Pennant Parade stamp set and can see so many ways to use this neat set.  When combined with the Petite Pennants punch not only is it fun and fast but versatile too.  Check it out for yourself. 

 
 

Here I've created a pennant designer paper using the petite pennants punch and Paisley Petals designer paper.  The greeting is from Four Frames stamp set which will also be available in our new catalogue this July!  If you look closely you'll notice that I ran the homemade designer paper though the Big Shot using the Vintage Walpaper Textured Embossing Folder. Other: vanilla satin ribbon, scallop trim corner punch, always artichoke classic ink and cardstock, vanilla cardstock.

 
This little 3x3 Christmas tag is created using only the stamps from the Pennant Parade, the dotted scallop ribbon punch and the petite pennant punch. Cardstock: whisper white, cherry cobbler, lucky limeade.

Another quick 3x3 Christmas Tag simply made using the Pennant Parade stamp set, the petite pennant punch and 1/8 inch early espresso ribbon for tree trunks. 

Nothing too fancy but definetly fun and fast to create.  You'll love this set and the coordinating punch.  Check back tomorrow to see more punchy ideas!

Pennant Parade Sneak Peek

Last month I bit the bullet and designed a scrap layout using a pennant title. (you can see it at the bottom of this page)  My customers loved it but all of us commented that it would be so much easier if Stampin' Up would create a punch. Well, guess what I was able to order in my demonstrator pre catalogue order?  Yup, a pennant punch!!!  I was so excited I could hardly wait for it to arrive at my door.  Bless those design people at Stampin' Up! who also created a wonderful stamp set "Pennant Parade" that coordinates with this amazing punch!

Here's some bits and pieces I stamped with Pennant Parade, in our new In Colours, and punched out with the pennant punch.

 

 
There are even more images in this little stamp set! You'll be inspired to create cards, scrap pages and party items galore.

Here's the first card I made using this set inspired by one by Fran Sabad which she shared on our Stampin' Up site.  It was so easy ladies...I had to giggle while I played! 

 

Details:

The letters I stamped using the retired set "Rough Edges" and punched out with the 1/2" circle punch.  Just for you is a greeting from "Teeny Tiny Wishes".  Cardstock: Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White & Cookie Crumble Ink: lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral & Island Indigo

I've got more ideas in my wee brain for this set.  Thinking... icecream cones, Christmas trees and tags.  Can't wait to get time in my room to stamp again to make them.

I can't wait to create another birthday banner layout!  My youngest will be 21 this month so I may get an opportunity very soon if she lets me take photos.  lol

Snow Much Fun to sneak a peek

I'm so excited to be able to play with some stamps and products from our new catalogue which is available to you on July 1st.   Hold onto your ice drink while you take a look at the following Christmas card.  lol... Yup!  I'm stamping Christmas cards this week. 

 

Snow Much Fun is the name of this sweet snowman set.   In order that you could get an idea of the new In -colours I  stamped in stazon and coloured with markers in pool party, lucky limeade, island indigo, and calypso coral.  (four of the five new In colours) 

 

In this shot you can see the only embelishments - Dazzling Diamonds and a bit of Crystal Effects on the tree ornaments.

 

The inside has one more image from this set. The greeting is from "Contempo Christmas" set. With very little effort this card was put together in about 10 minutes.  I can't wait to play some more with this set.  The new catty shows it stamped in browns... Gotta love the inspiration!!!

Phew!  It's great weather to be swimming or stamping in airconditioned stamp room.

On the Grow - Gift Card Holder

I think this sweet floral set is just the thing to use on a retirement gift card.  This week a customer gave her sister the nicest gift... Can you imagine a Stampin' Up! shopping trip?  Well that's what her family decided her retirment gift should be.  Lucky lady eh? 

Here's a peek at my finished gift card holder.

 

 
All in blues this 3-3/4' x 8-1/2" card is a Not Quite Navy base combined with Greenhouse Gala and tied with a Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon.  The level  2 hostess set "Fast and Fabulous" was stamped in Stazon ink and coloured with marker and blender pen.  Tiny pearls are placed in each flower centre and then the card was spritzed with Frost White Shimmer paint mixed in alcohol.  The greeting is from "Short and Sweet" #115060.

So, I guess you're wondering where the "On the Grow" stamp set is. 

Inside of course!  I love the saying in this set and thought it really suited the journey of Retirement... " every day is the perfect adventure".  Doesn't that just sum up what Retirement should be?

Faux Mother of Pearl

Mother of Pearl is that opalecent, shiny surface found inside the shell of a clam.  If you're lucky you may have a blouse with mother of pearl buttons.  In my mother's day that was what all white buttons were made of. 

Using Frost White Shimmer paint (pg. 195) and a scrunched up ball of plastic wrap you can create a fair imitation of this beautiful surface. 

 

In the card above the flower from 5th Avenue Floral (#113734) was stamped in black stazon ink on a Mother of Pearl surface.  To create this opalecent surface first pour out a little of the Frost White Shimmer paint into a saucer.  Dip a scrunched up piece of plastic wrap into the paint and wipe the extra off before pouncing this onto a piece of glossy white cardstock.   Make sure to leave some areas unpainted.  Once this has dried, stamp your image in stazon ink and colour with markers.  I used Melon Mambo and Regal Rose in the flower above.  The center I coloured in Concord Crush.  Lastly I sponged the rest of the glossy cardstock with Regal Rose. 

The other flowers on the Whisper White card front were stamped in Versa Mark and sprinkled with our new Melon Mambo embossing powder and heated until melted.  Love this new product!!! #123223

Here's another photo showing the actual shimmer of this faux Mother of Pearl surface when the light hits it just right.

 
 

Below is my first version of another card I made using this same technique in an attempt to create a more masculine card.

In this card I stamped the image "Sail Away" #123013 in black stazon ink on the Faux Mother of Pearl surface.  Again I used markers to colour the sails in Daffodil delight and Tangerine Tango.  The mother of Pearl Surface was sponge in Marina Mist (sky) and Not Quite Navy (water).  Hint, In order not to muddy the colouring of the sails I masked them before sponging.

 

I hope you give this technique a try.  My stampers club enjoyed it and I think you will love the surprising results.
