Have you ever loved a card layout enough to reinvent it with a different purpose? Well I loved the texture and tone on tone of this card enough to remake it a few times. This first one is designed as a masculine birthday card and the second one is a take on the same card but this time twisted for my Mom's birthday yesterday.
Just so deliciously textured and tone on tone, this Nearly Navy and Craft card stock is warm but sharp. Obviously the Big Shot was featured in it's creation. Beautiful Wings Embosslits die #118138 and Perfect Polkadots Impression Folder # 117335, both were used to create the texture. Craft satin ribbon, Oval All stamp set, the large oval and scallop oval punches complete the design.
My Mom is such a hat lady I couldn't resist resurecting a few retired sets for her card. Stamps: Going Out in Style and Fashion Statement (both retired) and Oval All. Inside this card has more hats and the sentiment is "Hatty Birthday". I wish I had taken a photo of my beautiful Mom while we were out to lunch yesterday...Very Hatty and gorgeous!
I truly love the ease of embossing with my Big Shot! The embsossing items in our Mini Occasions Catalogue were the first thing I purchased and I have to steal myself not to use them some way on every card I make.
If you're in the northern hemisphere I hope you're enjoying the melting snow as much as I am. Though we were dumped on this past week ... it's melting as fast as it came. Spring is just around the corner and I'm ready for it!
Have a wonderful weekend wherever you are and take some time to get creative.
Linda
