Today I'm going to share a trick I use to produce new cards when I only have a little stampin' time. The four cards that I made today follow one layout. By keeping it simple and limiting my options I can design cards much faster.
Today's layout I stole right from our Spring & Summer Catalogue and Idea book. (I did flip it around though.) Check our catty on page 110 to see the original inspiration.
Often when I'm stuck for an idea I flip through our Stampin' UP! catalogue to find a layout that I like. Then I take this as a starting point for my card creations. Using my stamp sets, colours and designer paper I tried out my take on the layout above.
This first card is stamped using the "Unfrogetable" stamp set. Kids just love the hoppy frog and googly eyes! I simplified things futher by using our designer papers as a starting point for my colour combinations. How easy is that!
In this card and the next one I used my new stamp set "Pun Fun". I took advantage of the terrific Wheel Deal that Stampin' Up! has on right now and got the wheel free with this set. (Click here to find out more.) I'll show you the wheel in tomorrow's post. Too cute!
The embossed dots on the Reagal Rose layer in this hippo card were created with our fabulous crop-o-dile. This adds some extra dimention and interest to an otherwise very simple card and only takes a minute to do!
The cropodle was used in thie Happy bird Day card too as was our designer paper. I coloured all images above with markers or blender pen and ink pad.
You may recognize the stamped image in this next card that comes from "Doodle This". I think it's playful but pretty too.
I messed around a bit with the placement of the greetings but each card basically follows the same layout and because of that I produced this group of cards in fairly quick time. By keeping it simple...... I can enjoy my hobby and still have time to get out in the sunshine today!
P.S. How long do you think it took me to design and make these 4 cards? Why don't you try it and see?
